The announcement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, at the media launch of the 2025 Diaspora Summit on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
The recipients, recognised for their impactful contributions to Ghana’s international reputation, include Wode Maya (Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon), a travel vlogger with over 1.2 million YouTube subscribers; Lady Dentaa (Dentaa Amoateng MBE), founder of the Ghana UK-Based Achievement (GUBA) Awards; broadcaster Anita Erskine; reggae artist and multiple Grammy Award nominee, Rocky Dawuni; and Ibrahim Mahama, a globally-acclaimed artist known for his large-scale installations exploring themes of trade and colonialism.
