The Institute of Public Relations, Ghana (IPR) has expressed sadness over the death of the Marketing and Public Affairs Manager of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, Josephine Asante.

According to President Elaine Sam, the Institute extends its condolences to Josephine’s family and colleagues at Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).

“We pray that God will grant you the strength as you come to terms with what has happened to our dear one,” a statement noted.

The Marketing and Public Affairs Manager of the Authority at Tema, was stabbed to death the dawn of Sunday, January 13, having attended a staff party the previous night.

She was murdered at her Community 25 residence, leaving behind a 12-year-old son.

In a message of condolence to the family and colleagues at GPHA, the President of IPR Ghana mentioned that Josephine Asante would always be remembered.

“Josephine has departed this earth but has truly not left, for she is still alive in our hearts and minds. Through us, she lives on. Please accept our condolences.”

Ms Sam went on to condemn the murder of their beloved as “brutal and heinous”.

“IPR Ghana thereby calls upon the Ghana Police Service to do all within its powers to apprehend the killers of the manager for justice to serve its course.”

She advised all members of the IPR to prioritise their security in light of what appears to be a spike in violent crimes in the country.

She thanked GPHA for its swift response to support the son and family of the deceased.
