IGP hails govt, but warns politicians & media

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Nana Owusu Nsiah, has expressed his administration?s appreciation to the government for providing the Police Service with a good number of vehicles.

He has, therefore, charged personnel of the service to reciprocate the gesture by giving of their best to save life and property.

He made the commendation in a speech read on his behalf on the occasion of the passing out of 81 General Police Recruits after four months of intensive training at Winneba.

He charged the personnel to turn a new leaf and learn to live above reproach to have the moral justification to subject others to discipline.

MIND YOUR TONGUES, IGP TELLS POLITICIANS AND MEDIA

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Nana Owusu Nsiah, has cautioned politicians and media practitioners to be mindful of their utterances so as not to disturb the peace and stability of the country.

The IGP who was speaking at a one-day sensitization seminar for media practitioners on ?Crime and Police Reporting? yesterday said, the media should not hide under the guise of press freedom or freedom of information and expression to pronounce on issues that would set the tone for confusion nationally and also incites passions.
