I won’t campaign for Akufo-Addo again – Abu Ramadan

The National Youth Organiser of the People’s National Convention (PNC) Abu Ramadan has said he will no longer mount campaign platforms to solicit for votes for Nana Akufo-Addo.

According to him, he is done pushing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) agenda and will not make it a priority to canvass for votes for the 2016 flagbearer of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition.

Akufo-Addo is standing for the third time on the ticket of the largest opposition party in Ghana, having lost twice to late president John Evans Atta Mills and incumbent John Dramani Mahama in 2008 and 2012 respectively.

Ramadan, who campaigned and mounted campaign platforms for the twice-defeated NPP candidate in 2012, said he has different plans now.

“I will not campaign for Nana Addo,” he emphatically told Kasapa FM.

Explaining why he campaigned for Nana Addo in 2012, Ramadan, who is seeking to become the PNC’s National Organiser, said it was a decision thoroughly decided by his party’s leadership, who thought Ghana needed change at the time, and saw that instrument in the NPP’s candidate.
