Founder and leader of Heaven Way Church, Evangelist Mama Pat, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has vowed to sell her church building and give half of the proceeds to Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi to start a business, should he be removed from office for gifting her $800.
There has been a wave of criticism in the last 48 hours after a video went viral showing Mr. Gyamfi giving dollar notes to Asiedua Asiamah at a public gathering.
Some segments of the public have criticized the gesture, questioning its appropriateness in light of the current economic difficulties.
Mr. Gyamfi responded with an apology, clarifying that the donation was a private gesture and not intended for public display. Julius Debrah, the Chief of Staff, has since summoned him to explain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Others have called for his removal from office to serve as a deterrent to other political appointees.
However, in a video posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Agradaa, a former fetish priestess turned pastor, said she does not see any wrongdoing or crime committed by the young politician that should warrant his dismissal.
She has pledged to support Sammy Gyamfi financially should he lose his job because of her.
"Some senior NDC party members are jealous of Sammy Gyamfi's position and want to use this act of kindness - the $800 gift he gave me as a reason to get him sacked. I swear on my mantle, anointing oil, and Bible that I will sell my church building, divide the proceeds into two, and give Sammy Gyamfi half the amount to start a business."
