'I will continue Agenda 111 project if NDC doesn't' - Dr Bawumia assures

The former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has promised that if the John Dramani Mahama-led government fails to complete the Agenda 111 project, the NPP will ensure its completion when they return to power.

Addressing party members during his tour of the Central Region on Wednesday, October 1,2025, he said, "If the NDC does not complete the Agenda 111 project, if we (NPP) come back, we will finish the project."

The Agenda 111 project, launched by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on August 17, 2021, covers the design, procurement, construction, equipping, and commissioning of 101 district hospitals; six regional hospitals in newly created regions; one regional hospital in the Western Region; two psychiatric hospitals in Kumasi and Tamale and a redeveloped Accra Psychiatric Hospital.

The initiative aims to ensure that Ghanaians nationwide have access to quality healthcare services.
