Former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Talensi in the Upper East Region, Mr Thomas Duanab Wuni Pearson, has argued that former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, remains a formidable force to reckon with in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He stated that if Bawumia is presented as the flagbearer ten times, he will continue to vote for him, given his belief that the 2024 flagbearer of the NPP has something unique to offer Ghanaians and the country as a whole.

Speaking on Bolgatanga-based Dreamz FM, the former appointee insisted that among those rumoured to be interested in becoming the torchbearers of the elephant family, Dr Bawumia stands tall and can guarantee the party's victory.

"If they bring him ten times, I’ll vote for him ten times. I know what is in the man. I know what that man can do. Unfortunate things happen. But if that man ever gets a chance to rule this country, we’ll see what that man can do," he argued.

Justifying his decision to support the former Vice President, he explained, "There is no better alternative to Bawumia. Bawumia is our alternative, and he is the better alternative we have for now, and we are sending him back. What is new about our candidate in the person of Dr Bawumia, if he went first and couldn’t make it after we haven’t done 8 years? Everyone knows that crossing eight years in this country is very difficult."
