I was well fed by National Security in custody - ModernGhana Editor

Emmanuel Ajafor Abugri, Editor of the MordernGhana has revealed that he was well fed while in detention at the National Security Headquarters after his arrest last Thursday.

“They even gave me food to eat so that I could gain strength for more slaps. They gave me food to eat, I won’t lie. When I went, I thanked the lady. I said thank you for feeding me and feeding me well”, he revealed on Accra-based Citi Fm.

He insisted tasers were used on him as well as slaps but denied they used the object on his penis as claimed by earlier reports.

“They handcuffed me behind and they used the taser on my both arms while I put my head down by legs up against the wall. I stayed in that position until I could no longer contain it”, he revealed.

According to him, he was interrogated and beaten on the basis of two articles that are opinion pieces against National Security Minister, Kan Dapaah and Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu constituency, Alexander Afenyo-Markin.

It would be recalled that the Deputy Editor, Emmanuel Ajarfor Abugri, as well as Emmanuel Yeboah Britwum, a reporter were arrested by National Security operatives over the publications of the two articles last Thursday.

Manasseh Azuri Awuni, had earlier revealed that the two journalists with online portal, ModernGhana were subjected to various forms of torture including electric shock.

He added that the arrested journalists were slapped and tortured with electric shock and subjected to physical assaults in their interaction with him.
