Popular musician and NPP sympathizer, Kwame Asare Obeng also known as A Plus, has indicated that he has a pump action gun which he walks about with.

According to him, he doesn’t like using the 9mm pistol because, in a process of firing, the pistol can cease to function, but when he uses the pump action and it freezes he can use the recoil pad of the gun to assault his victim to death.

“When I’m entering Movenpick Hotel, I tell the security I have a gun, they take and keep it at their post and when I am leaving I go for my gun and leave,” he said in a live Facebook video.

“Anywhere I go, I carry it, plenty of them” he stressed.

The issue of guns became very topical following the brandishing of a pistol on stage by Reggae-Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy on the night of the 20th edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Stonebwoy on the night was called to receive the ‘Reggae-Dancehall Artiste’ of the year award.

Whilst on stage his music rival Shatta Wale from the audience decided to mount the stage together with his supporters.

This action by Shatta Wale brought about some scuffle during which Stonebwoy pulled a gun on stage.

This disrupted for some time what should have been a beautiful show to celebrate musicians in this country.

Stonebwoy has been charged in court for displaying firearms in public without permission from the Inspector General of Police (IGP). In addition, he has been charged, together with Shatta Wale, for threatening public peace.

The two musicians were each admitted to a bail sum of GHC50, 000 with one surety.

Court hearing continues on June 20, 2019.
