Immediate Chief Justice, Justice Theodora Georgina Wood has denied being part of some influential people who were given state lands in plush areas of Ghana’s capital, Accra.

The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has compiled a list of over 400 people including statesmen, business executives and religious leaders who were allocated state lands by the previous government.

Mrs Wood, ex-Presidents Jerry John Rawlings and J.A Kufuor and others have denied purchasing any state land which is presently being investigated by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.

“I’m not a beneficiary of any state land in Ghana, I’ve never applied for or been allocated any such property on or around the date stated. I’ve volunteered to appear before the Ministerial Committee set up by the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources for thorough investigations into this matter,” Former Chief Justice, Georgina Wood said in a statement.

Spokespersons for Ex-President J.A Kufuor, Frank Agyekum rubbished the report saying rather the said land was allocated as part of Mr Kufuor’s settlement package as ex-president.

“The piece of land in question is a land that has been shown to him as where the government was going to put up a building for his residential accommodation.”
