I pray for Anas to expose corrupt MPs - Alban Bagbin

Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin - Majority Leader Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin - Majority Leader

Ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has already hinted that he might storm Ghana’s parliament for his next undercover work – but it seems Majority Leader in the august House is in  a haste to see that happening soon.

Alban Kingsford Bagbin in an interview with Kwasi Aboagye on NEAT FM’s morning show dubbed Ghana Montie says Anas must not drag his feet in coming to Parliament since corruption is said to have engulfed the House.

“I am praying for the day Anas will storm parliament house and expose corrupt MPs,” he told host Kwasi Aboagye.

The Majority Leader's comments come after corruption accusations were leveled against parliamentarians by Professor Stephen Adei, former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

Since his claim that "8 out of 10 politicians are glorified thieves," and that some MPs on various committees oftentimes take bribes to approve projects or bills, Prof Adei has been at the receiving end of vicious vitriolic attacks by some MPs.

The Nadowli-Kaleo MP was earlier erroneously reported to have slammed Prof Adei for his over-sweeping remark, but on NEAT FM on Thursday, the seasoned politician said he strongly backs the learned Professor.

“I respect that man a lot. How can I rubbish what he is saying when I have raised such topic before?”

He explained that, inviting the professor to the House will help unravel the truth behind the bribery allegations he made against the MPs, but “I fully support him."
