I'm still the NDC candidate for Okaikoi North - Okaikoi

The parliamentary candidate of Okaikoi North Constituency, Mr. Andrew Okaikoi, is calling on his supporters to disregard rumours that he has been ousted as the party’s candidate for the area.

In a statement copied to RadioXYZonline.com, Mr. Okaikoi said “I would like to call on all to disregard the information making the rounds that a new Parliamentary Candidate has been elected for the OkaiKoi North Constituency.”

He said: “I would like to reiterate that I am still the legitimate Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress at OkaiKoi North for the December 7 polls."

Mr Okaikoi stated that: “The report is not only malicious, but an unsuccessful 'coup' by some unpatriotic members of my party to dent the hard work and determination of the many supporters of the great National Democratic Congress (NDC) to win the OkaiKoi North seat.”

Mr Okaikoi assured his supporters and party members that he is still the elected parliamentary candidate of the NDC for the area and is committed to ensure that President Mahama is elected as the president in December.

“I am committed to the course of His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama and the Great NDC party, and no amount of propaganda and mischief by certain disgruntled elements in the party will derail that course,” he said.

He urged party supporters who are unhappy with his victory to channel their grievances through the party “because no one is bigger than the NDC.”
