Embattled National Youth Organiser of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Ernesto Yeboah, has stated that he is still the National Youth Organiser of the party despite reports of his suspension.
According to Mr. Yeboah, the leadership of the CPP has not officially informed him of his suspension adding that he has only heard the news in the media.
The Central Committee of the CPP suspended the party’s General Secretary, Nii Armah Akomfrah and Ernesto Yeboah on Thursday after they publicly contradicted the party’s flagbearer, Ivor Greenstreet, over President John Mahama’s Ford gift Saga.
But asked whether he is still the Youth Organiser of party by host of Big Issue Umaru Sanda on Citi FM Saturday, Mr. Yeboah responded “Yes, I am.”
Mr. Yeboah added “I haven’t received any formal communication from the party...neither my general secretary or myself were present at the central committee meeting...even as we speak, as disrespectful as it may seem I haven’t received any communication from the party.
“I only heard of the news in the media...I have listened to our flagbearer and leader of the party and our suspension is because of our comments on the Mahama Ford gift and I would wonder why a party with integrity would want to suspend its members for fighting corruption.”
