I'm so angry; NPP must wake up! - Kweku Baako on Delta Forces

Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, has sent a strong warning to the ruling New Patriotic Party to watch over the conduct of its activists and publicly speak out on any barbarous acts they perpetrate.

Contributing to Kokrokoo on Peace FM on Wednesday, Kweku Baako expressed utter disgust over the recent action by some members of a pro-NPP vigilante group "Delta Force" which saw an MP and a Minister funning for protective cover.

The Delta Force stormed a meeting of constituency executives at Old Tafo chaired by their Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Monitoring and Evaluation Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei.

The muscular men of the group allegedly went with a particular purpose to attack the Minister but he managed to escape unharmed.

Kweku Baako condemned the action but laid the blame on the doorstep of the governing NPP.

To him, the party has gone dormant on these vigilante groups in the country and due to its impotency to take the necessary punitive actions against them, the groups have grown wings attacking people with impunity.

“The NPP should be very careful. It’s the NPP that is in government and obviously, it is the NPP guys who are those misbehaving…If they’re party members, what has even the party, itself, done?… It’s a disaster and it’s annoying. I’m telling you honestly. It’s my true feeling. It’s very irritating”, he said.

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Mr. Baako vented his spleen on the NPP instructing them to "wake up".

“Honestly, I’ll be lying if I say I’m a happy man and I’m not lying. I’m being very sincere about these things and the NPP should wake up. As a party, first of all, they should look within if those boys indeed are party members; they should discipline them according to their constitution” and deliver them to the law enforcement agencies to deal with them accordingly", he insisted, adding that "it must be done. If it means they will lose their support during campaign time, that’s okay!”
