Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has responded to rising concerns about the seemingly direct approach in his discourse.

In an interview with Channel One TV's The Point of View, on September 17, 2025, the minister addressed criticisms suggesting his direct approach in dialogue does not appear to align with the dynamics of international relations.

“I’m not familiar with confrontational politics; being assertive and communicating one’s conviction can sometimes be mistaken for confrontation. So, I strongly disagree with that view. I am deliberate in choosing my words,” Ablakwa remarked.

After his appointment, some political commentators and observers have suggested that the foreign ministry could benefit from a more tactful figure.

Critics have argued that Ablakwa's previous actions were seen as too direct, potentially complicating diplomatic efforts.

He, however, maintained that his views are always grounded in facts and evidence.

"I always make sure my statements are backed by evidence and has a solid foundation. If you review all the work we did in opposition, our exposés have consistently been proven right," he explained.

Ablakwa strongly rejected the claims of being confrontational, stating that his assertiveness is frequently misunderstood.
