I lost appetite after listening to Gen. Mosquito - Sir John

General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popular known as Sir John, has expressed disappointment in the performance of Johnson Asiedu Nketia during Thursday’s proceedings at the Supreme Court.

General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as Gen. Mosquito as the star witness of both first and third respondents in the ongoing election petition at the Supreme Court, mounted the witness box on Thursday and was cross-examined by lead lawyer for the third respondent, Tsatsu Tsikata.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM's 6pm news bulletin on Thursday, Sir John said he was disappointed in the performance of his fellow General Secretary in the witness box.

According to him, General Mosquito’s performance was nothing to write home about, adding he could not even get his figures right.

“I was so appalled by his performance that l lost appetite when I was served with my favorite dish”, he hinted.

Speaking on the same platform, Yaw Boateng Gyan, National Organiser of the ruling NDC says, he is not surprised that Sir John is making such pronouncements.

According to him, Sir John after proceedings on Thursday “expressed good wishes and congratulated Gen. Mosquito but, however, told him that when asked he is going to say a different thing, and that is what he has done and so I am not surprised”.

He said, the most important thing is that Asiedu Nketia displayed his knowledge of the electoral laws and brought the facts to bare.

“…and so the issue of not getting his calculations right is neither here nor there. You cannot use a little miscalculation to judge a person. If not for propaganda, I know the NPP will even attest to the fact that Asiedu Nketia was right...however, I am not surprised about his remarks and I know since everyone is watching they will attest to the fact that, that wasn’t the case and that our star witness’ performance was remarkable”
