Derrick Arthur Kohn has vowed to make himself indispensable to Otto Addo as the Black Stars prepare for crucial World Cup warm-up matches against Austria and Germany later in March 2026.
The Union Berlin defender earned a call-up to the 26-man squad and talking to Sporty FM, he revealed that he is determined to deliver performances that will cement his place in Ghana’s team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“Personally, I want to play well in the Austria and Germany games so that Otto Addo would have no chance to keep me out of the squad for the World Cup,” Kohn Said.
Kohn’s ambition is clear: these friendlies are not just warm-ups, but an opportunity to stake his claim among Ghana’s defensive options.

Known for his versatility and composure at the back, the 27-year-old believes that consistent, confident performances in these high-profile matches will leave Otto Addo with no choice but to include him in the final World Cup roster.
The Black Stars’ defense has seen several key figures miss out due to injuries, and Kohn is aware of the responsibility that comes with being part of the squad.
His commitment to impress signals a new level of competition for starting spots, which can only benefit the team as they prepare to face top European opposition.
