Accra based lawyer has declared intentions to file a petition before Ghana’s Supreme Court against screening of pornographic content on live television.

According to Maurice Ampaw, he will join the two private citizens that have already petitioned the National Media Commission and other state institutions against the showing of adult rated content on TV stations such as Ice TV and Thunder TV.

The lawyer was speaking to host of Abusua FM’s entertainment review program, Austin Wood in reaction to a petition filed by the two broadcasters, James Kwesi Oberko and Tommy Annan Forson.

According to lawyer Maurice Ampaw, “I don’t see why people watch porn because it is abnormal and only mad people watch pornographic films.”

” So I’m going to join the petitioners to go to the Supreme Court because pornography showing is stupid,” he charged.

“If my mother had made me watch porn, I wouldn’t have made it as a lawyer and that’s responsible parenting, we won’t allow anyone to destroy our morality.”

“Look, not every child has a living parent or guardian and if even they have, some of them are so bad that once they realize it is shown at such hours will have means to outwit their parents to watch,” the lawyer said.

“So I will lead the two petitioners to the Supreme Court to initiate legal action that will stop Ice TV because they want parents to suffer for their irresponsible act and we won’t allow that.”
