Karela United forward William Opoku Mensah says he was sure of making the difference when he came on against Accra Hearts of Oak.

The forward scored an 18 minute second half hat-trick when he came on as a substitute to condemn Accra Hearts of Oak to a 3-1 defeat at the CAM Park in Anyinase.

Opoku-Mensah's hat-trick is the second fastest in the Ghana Premier League and speaking after the game the player reiterated he was confident of making an impact against the Ghanaian giants.

"I knew I was going to change the game in the second half,” he said confidently at the end of the game. “Most often when I start a game there are ups and downs, but anytime I come in the second half I make a huge impact."

“The Coach told me when I come on I should take the defenders on because he knew what I can do that’s why I took that risk,” he added.

Karela United have been impressive this season despite playing in their maiden Ghana Premier campaign.

Ex- kumasi Asante Kotoko Coach Johnson Smith has transformed his side into one of the giant killers in the Ghana Premier League.
