Legal practitioner Martin Kpebu says there is currently no strong basis for President John Dramani Mahama to reshuffle his ministers, pointing to the absence of major scandals.
Speaking on the issue of a possible ministerial reshuffle on TV3, monitored by MyNewsGh, Kpebu made it clear that, in his view, the government still has time to assess performance before making any major changes.
“I’m looking at around a year and a half, from January 2025 to June 2026,” he explained, noting that this period offers a fair window to judge ministers.
He stressed that so far, there has not been any major controversy that would justify immediate dismissals. “I haven’t seen a scandal that requires an immediate sacking,” he said.
For Kpebu, this means the current team is holding up reasonably well. “Oh, absolutely, for now, yes, it’s okay,” he added when asked if he was satisfied with their performance.
His position suggests that at least in the short term, continuity may serve the government better than disruption.
