"I have provided enough evidence -Kweku Baako

The Editor-In-Chief of the Crusading Guide, Kweku Baako Jnr has rebuffed assertions that he has so far not produced enough evidence to show that the Rawlingses are no apostles of probity, accountability and integrity after all. Reacting to assertions by the senior journalists, that he should move away from daring the Rawlingses to providing hard facts about the alleged corrupt activities, Kweku Baako told the Statesman newspaper that “it will be mischievous to say that I should provide evidence; what evidence again do Ghanaians want me to provide for them to see the hypocrisy of the Rawlingses?”

The Crusading journalist said he had already provided evidence to the effect that Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings operates a foreign bank account in Switzerland. He has provided the name of the bank, and that at the last check, she had over $600,000 in that account. “I have also told Ghanaians about the luxurious flat in which their children live in Ireland, the amount of money that their parents are paying to keep them in universities abroad; I have also revealed the truth about the car gift from Eddie Annan. Which of these have they denied?” asked Kweku Baako.

Kweku Baako told The Statesman that he has also provoked them enough to come out to clear their name, if they have any name left at all. He also renewed his call on the Rawlingses to go to court, a call he has continually made ever since he began his crusade of stripping them naked.

It will be recalled that the Rawlingses threatened to send Kweku Baako to court to get him to prove the allegations against them. “Why have they not gone to court till date?” asked Kweku Baako. Providing his own answer to the question, Kweku Baako said, “ They have not gone to court because they will be on oath to tell the truth and nothing but the truth; besides, my lawyer will have chance to cross-examine them and a lot of things will come to light.” The Rawlingses have instead gone to the National Media Commission because at the stringent safeguards to ensure that they tell the ruth.

Meanwhile, the former President insists that they did not have a foreign account when they were in office. He said he only opened a foreign account when his wife had to undergo surgery abroad. This was after they had left office. Flt Lt Rawlings says his wife has written to the Bank to confirm or deny the allegations against her and they are still awaiting the reply.
