A deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Nii Lantey Vanderpuije, has said he no longer has passion for football, a game he once run commentary on when working with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC).

“The truth of the matter is that my love for football over the other sporting disciplines has diminished. I have so much love for tennis now than football,” he said.

Mr. Vanderpuije who is also the NDC MP for Odododiodoo constituency told Fiifi Banson Monday during an interview on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM.

His reaction was provoked by a question from Banson who had sought his permission “to one of these days speak on football.”

Vanderpuije said he had long ago decided not to talk about football but once the request was coming from the host, someone he mentored at GBC, he was all for it.
