Mr Philip Akpeena Assibit, a Representative of Goodwill International Group (GIG), has told the Financial Division of the High Court that he was professionally trained as a management consultant.

He also said he had a BSc in Administration with Accounting Option from the University of Ghana.

Mr Assibit was answering questions during a cross-examination from the Prosecution, whether he had any professional training as a management consultant.

"I also had several graduate and professional trainings, which earned me a doctorate degree in international finance, Certified Charted Accountant and Charted in Financial Management among others," he added.

Mr Abuga Pele, the former National Coordinator of GYEEDA and Mr Assibit are facing various charges of causing financial loss of 4.1 million Ghana Cedis to the State.

Assibit is accused of putting in false claims that he had secured a 65-million-dollar World Bank funding for the creation of one million jobs for the youth, which led the government to part with the GH¢ 4.1 million.

The court admitted Pele to self- recognisance bail, whilst Assibit was granted bail in the sum of GH¢2 million with four sureties, two of whom were to be justified.

The case is adjourned to October 30, 2017 for further cross-examination.
