Editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako says he does not easily concur with ideas from his investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas on issues relating to their work.

According to him, although he respects the thoughts of Anas – they deliberate thoroughly on sensitive issues before coming to conclusion to embark on a project.

“I have to be honest with him [Anas], but that doesn’t influence my thought. I don’t follow him like a zombie when he says something. It won’t happen,” Mr. Baako said on Peace FM’s flagship morning show Kokrokoo

The Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong has said if Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako knew how “evil and wicked” his investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas is - then he would stop defending his entrapment methodology he employs in his undercover journalism practice.

But the veteran journalist who disclosed that he shares the same birthday with Anas said “I have known him since 1997-1998 thereabouts as an intern from GIJ [Ghana Institute of Journalism]. He chose to work with me and he came and I accepted him. He decided to stay after his internship because he said he feels comfortable working with me.”

“Today, he [Anas] is not just a reporter or the acting Editor-in-Chief, he is actually a co-owner, and he owns 40% of Kweku Baako Media limited and I own 60%. That is how far he’s risen,” he said.
