I did not work for Nana Akufo-Addo - Sekou

Dr. Sekou Nkrumah has stated did not work for the main opposition NPP but made a choice to support them because he was not happy with the performance of the NDC government therefore has not betrayed the NPP.

He said he supported the NPP and their candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo as a protest against the leadership of the NDC which was unimpressive; stressing that though nothing has changed with the leadership of the NDC government, it is still the best option for him since as a social democrat the party offers the best platform to promote his philosophy.

Speaking on Okay FM, he said that his choice to support NPP was to send the NDC into opposition so that they could revise their notes, adding that since it did not happen the way he expected, he has advised himself to go back to rejoin the NDC and not because he wants a position.

Asked whether the NDC leadership is aware of his intention to rejoin the party, he said that he does not deal with the leadership but the ordinary members, because a political party is a mass party.

“Leadership comes and goes but the political party have its mass support and has its core value and if you belong to the party, you have to promote the ideas of the party,” he said.

He reiterated that the NDC leadership is still not living up to expectation.
