Amos Frimpong is one of the highest-paid players at Kumasi Asante Kotoko and in the Ghana premier league taking home not less than 2, 500GHC at the end of the month but the start of his professional soccer career at BA Stars in the 2010/11 season was hard, financially.

“My first salary was 100GHC at BA. It wasn’t any big sum but I was very happy at the time because it was my first in a premier league club.” Amos Frimpong told Isaac Owusu Ansah “Ike” on Metro FM’s Matured and Academic Sports on Tuesday morning.

So what did he buy first with his maiden salary?

“My personal manager David Kyei adviced me to buy a rice cooker because he didn’t like it when I buy food outside and I remember I bought at a 15GHC and it really helped me because I always prepared my food” Amos revealed.

Amos joined Asante Kotoko in the 2011/12 season following the relegation of the Sunyani-based side and has since gone on to become one of the best players in his right-back position.
