Member of Parliament for Mampong Constituency Francis Addai-Nimoh says he combines managerial and leadership skills needed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in its quest for a flagbearer ahead of the 2016 elections.
“If you are a leader and you have managerial skills, it becomes an added advantage for you to lead a group of people.”
The civil engineer has, therefore, asked the party to elect him as the 2016 Presidential Candidate.
“I believe that...I am the David of the moment in the New Patriotic Party who will rise from the unknown to the known,” he stated on TV3 on Wednesday, May 7.
Mr. Addai-Nimoh, 48, listed his credentials as a unifier and an experienced fellow in infrastructural development, which the country needs, according to him.
“I am a civil engineer trained at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). I have had my professional practice. I am in road construction, in building, in water systems [and] in environmental issues. So, in terms of infrastructural development, I have some experience in that.”
The Mampong MP would have to contend the likes of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku and Joe Ghartey if he would become the party’s flagbearer.
He has called on the party’s leadership to remain neutral in the run-up to the flagbearership race. “We cannot all have the same opinion on any single issue and, therefore, I will want to see that we ensure unity in diversity in our great party.”
The party is expected to elect its leader for the 2016 elections by December.
