'I am safe and recovering well' – Adams Sukparu speaks

Deputy Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, has confirmed that he is safe and recovering steadily following a road accident last week.

The accident occurred while he was traveling with the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu to the 8th Congregation and 40th Anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education.

In a statement released on February 15, 2026, Sukparu said he is responding well to treatment and is in good spirits while observing a brief period of rest as recommended by medical professionals.

“Alhamdulillah, by the mercy of Almighty Allah, I am safe and currently receiving medical care. I am recovering well and have been advised by medical professionals to rest and observe a period of recuperation,” he said.

Iddrisu, Sukparu recovering at 37 Military Hospital after accident

Sukparu expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama, Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, and Communications Minister Samuel Nartey George for their support.

He also thanked MPs, fellow ministers, CEOs, and residents of the Sissala West constituency for their prayers and messages.

Sukparu acknowledged the timely assistance of Issah Mohammed Bataglia, MP for Sissala East, and praised the medical teams at Tumu Municipal Hospital and 37 Military Hospital for their care.

The deputy minister reassured the public that he remains stable and is focused on a full recovery.
