"I am proud to be referred to as an NDC sympathizer" - Chief

The Omanhene of Besease in the Ajumako District of the Central Region, Nana Kokua Gya, has expressed his excitement at the plethora of developmental projects that the area has seen under the administration of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to Omanhene Kokua Gya, he feels proud anytime people refer to him as an NDC person because the party has ensured that the Ajumako District has received its share of the national cake.

The chief made this declaration at a rally addressed by President Mahama in the area on Thursday.

The chief's comments come at a time when many chiefs have expressed support for the two leading parties in December 7 election.

Civil society groups have however urged chiefs to stay out of politics and maintain a neutral position.

But Omanhene Kokua Gya said it is only fair that every government which brings development to the area receives the needed commendation and support, stressing that the NDC has developed other traditional areas outside the Besease District and has extended electricity to communities, which hitherto, lived in darkness.

He therefore cautioned the people to eschew ungratefulness, warning that if they go to the polls and do not show gratitude for the good projects brought to the area, they would have to answer to their conscience.
