I am happy the NPP is in opposition – Former Eastern Regional Minister

Former Eastern Regional Minister Seth Acheampong believes that opposition is beneficial for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, the NPP is the only party in Ghana that takes the time, while in opposition, to assess the system critically and develop reforms and ideas that can transform the country.

Seth Acheampong is confident that the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) "reset agenda" will fail because, in his view, they lack clarity and direction.

He believes that the NPP will present a more refined and effective version of the agenda to Ghanaians in a way that will genuinely improve the country.

“It is good that we are in opposition because when we are in opposition, we help Ghana. We are able to introduce meaningful reforms,” he said on Channel 1 Television.

He continued, “I am happy we are in opposition because we are going to ensure that the so-called reset agenda, which they will not be able to implement, will be repackaged properly by us to make Ghana better. That is what we do, and we know how to do it very well.”

He added, “They may mock us and say we will remain in opposition forever… I wouldn’t want to say too much this morning… The party is making sound decisions, and we should all respect the choices made by the political party.”
