Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak have recently overtaken their arch-rivals Asante Kotoko to become the club with the most valuable squad in the Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians now have a squad worth €2.03m with a squad size of 33, according to Transfermarkt data released last month.

Before last month, Hearts had a squad valued at €1.73m (5th on the chart) and were even below West African Football Academy who had a squad worth €1.75m.

Hearts took a big step forward in becoming the biggest club in terms of squad valuation by re-signing their former defender Nuru Suley.

Suley, 27, joined Hearts as a free agent after quitting his last club in 2019 summer. Though the defender had been inactive on the market for some month, his Transfermarkt value still remained at €300,000.

Suley, who spent five seasons with Hearts – between 2011 and 2014, headed to Libya before moving to Egypt on loan while returning to Libya before heading to Turkish SuperLig side Alanyaspor.

The move to Alanyaspors shot up his value from €25,000 to €450,000 while his highest Transfermarkt valuation also came at the Turkish club when he was rated €750,000.

Hearts of Oak are expected to appreciate their value with more signings expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The value of Hearts of Oak’s recent arrivals stand at €775,000.
