Horoya wins Ayawaso east constituency oragniser

Mr Ismaila Ali Horoya has emerged winner for the position of Organizer at the Ayawaso East Constituency of the National Democratic Congress.

He polled 171 votes as against his main contender Alhaji Sanda, who polled 94 votes.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra, Mr Horoya said his utmost priority is to unite members of the constituency, especially those who lost the elections.

“Unity among the party is paramount in achieving any organizational programme, and as the incoming Organizer, I pledge to mobilize all members in the Constituency to come out with strategies of retaining power in the 2016 elections,” he added.

Mr Horoya said he had started having talks with members who lost their positions not to distance themselves from the party, but see the election as a mark of enhancing democratic values, adding that the support of all was needed for the development of the party.

He said the constituency branches in the area is weak due to lack of logistics and as part of his commitment, he donated 76 plastic chairs in all the branches in Ayawaso East Constituency and 30 chairs for the three wards: Kanda ward, Nima east ward and Nima west ward.

Mr Horoya promised to organize meetings every three months for the three branches to brief members on latest developments in the party, to discuss their grievances and develop possible ways of addressing those problems.

He said he would engage sympathizers of the party who are not card bearing members for regular discussions on the way forward for the party, since they constituted a larger population of the party needed to be accorded with respect.

Mr Horoya thanked all who reposed confidence in him by voting for him and pledged his unflinching desire to mobilize the youth and strategize to win in 2016 elections.

He stressed that the party had a good record of achievements and is pursuing developmental projects, such as the Ghana National Gas Processing Plant, refurbishment and expansion of the Ridge Hospital, Expansion of the Police Hospital in Accra, and the expansion of the Kpone Water Pumping Station.
