Homowo Festival - USA Kicks-Off August 16

Ghana's (Homowo Festival - USA) Kicks-Off August 16 to August 28, 2011 --- (And Odwira Festival September 26, 2011; Adae Festival, January 16, 2012), in Los Angeles, California, at the Famouse Leimert Park.

African-Americans, Caribbeans and other Blacks in the Diaspora are preparing to celebrate three of Ghana's popular Homowo, Odwira and Adae Festivals, annually, across USA --- to purify Communities and Society of defilement; Pray and Fast for Community and Country, Make Peace in the Family and Neighborhoods, Invite Friends, Family and Neighbours for Dinner, Re-Connect to "Mother Africa", and recognize African-American Community, Political, Civil Rights and Religious leaders, as well as Celebreties, Achievers and Role Models.

( Cultural Performances and Dancing; Drumming, Fashion Shows, African-American and African Music and Movies, and African / African-American Markets will highlight the annual celebration of the three Festivals, across USA.).

The new African-American Cultural festivals to be celebrated annually, could benefit local governments in USA, and the African Nation of Ghana --- in terms of revenue generation through Tourism and Business / Investment promotion, according to organizers.

"Osagyefo Dr" Kwame Mayor, a Pro-American Civil Rights Leader in his own right; Democracy Activist and a Pan-Africanist Politician, publicly introduced the three of Ghana's popular Akan Festivals --- Odwira, Adae and Homowo Festivals to African-Americans in USA.

The leader of yet to be launched Uhuru People's Party, (UPP), has amoung its agendas to : achieve total Re-Unification of African-Americans, Caribbeans and other blacks in the Diaspora --- with Africans in the Continent of Africa; acquire Dual-Citizens for African-Americans and other blacks in the diaspora in Africa; introduce Bi-Lingual African Languages, such as Swahili, Hausa and Asante in American Public Schools --- as the Cultural Right of African-Americans, lobby for African-Americans, Caribbeans and other blacks in the Diaspora to run for public offices in Africa, etc, etc.

The Ghana's Presidential Aspirant, "Osagyefo Dr" Kwame Appiah Boateng, popularly known by Ghanaians around the World as "Kwame Mayor", may enter Guiness Book of Records as the first person to introduce the celebrations of Ghana's popular Akan Odwira and Adae festivals to African-Americans.

The first African-American (Homowo) Festival ---- an (African-American Thanks-Giving Festival !!!), will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 to Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Leimert Park --- (Leimert Park Village)

Crenshaw Blvd. and 43rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90008)

Also, the first African-American (Odwira) Festival in USA will be held at Leimert Park in Los Angeles, California, on Saturday, September 24, 2011 to Sunday, October 2, 2011

Furthermore, the first African-American (Adae) Festival will be held at the same venue, Leimert Park, on Monday, January 16, 2012 to January 22, 2012.

Perform good deeds to Neighbours and everybody in the Community --- (regardless of race and color) : Family Members, Friends, Neighbors, Acquantances, etc; Praying for forgiveness of our sins, Music; Cultural Display of Community Chiefs / Kings and Queens, Drumming and Dancing, Market Festival, Trade Shows, Beauty contest, Merry-Making, Exchange of Gifts, and Inviting People to share Meals of Fried Chicken; Participating in African-American / African Market Festivals, etc, etc

(Monday) : Neighborhood Cleaning in Communities Across USA

(Tuesday) : Parade of African-American Community Leaders; Celebreties and / Role Models, or our Nation's Role Models; Floating, Marching Bands; Merry Making

(Wednesday) : Mourning those who passed away in the Community / Neighborhoods; remembering the sacrifices of Soldiers in our Community who fought for America in pursuit of Democracy, Freedom and Liberty

(Thursday) : Exchange of Gifts and Food

(Friday) : Day of Celebration with a Grand Durber of Invited Guests and Dignitaries; Motivational Speakers to Extoll Community Values or Family Values

(Saturday) : Games, example : Soccer, Basketball, Football, Baseball, Tennis; Golf, Running, etc, etc.

(Sunday) : Church Services to reflect on the history of African-Americans --- a day to forgive People as a Nation and also, a day to ask for individual forgiveness; and pray for the Community and the entire Nation of United States of America, Africa and for World Peace / Racial Tolerance.

* Participate in Cultural Dancing, Drumming, Fashion Show and African-American Odwira Market Festival.

* During this Festival, African-Americans may obtain African first names / Akan first names of Ghana, such as [Kwame] --- for any boy born on Saturday, [Ama] --- for any girl born on Saturday; [Akwasi] --- for any boy born on Sunday, [Akosua] --- for any girl born on Sunday; [Kofi] --- for any boy born on Friday, [Afua] --- for any girl born on Friday, etc, etc.
