Ho West NDC aspirant, Samuel Danku donates tractor to Abutia community

Residents in the Abutia Traditional Area, in the Ho West District of the Volta Region are anticipating increased yields following the provision of a brand new Massey Ferguson tractor.

This initiative which would enable the residents commercialize their farms, is expected to translate to growth of the local economy as the community harbors one of the most viable market centres in the district.

The Abutia area is noted for the production cassava, bananna, sweet potatoes, maize, beans, fruits among others.

Business mogul and National Democratic Congress parliamentary aspirant for Ho West, Samuel Dzidula Danku, who presented the tractor indicated he aims to provide the requisite logistics to enable farmers cultivate enough of the vast arable land in the area.

He expressed optimism the gesture would position farmers to benefit from government’s flagship program, Planting for Food and Jobs.

“I am a Ghanaian, if government is doing something and I think I can also support why not, So I think this tractor will go a long way to help farmers in the community and Ho west” he said.

Mr Danku who has embarked on several humanitarian projects in the district urged residents to put the tractor to good use so the desired results can be achieved.

He noted his readiness to equip and support youth in the Ho West District who wish to engage in agriculture to support their livelihoods.

The Dufia of Abutia Kpota, Torgbe Tsali, who received the tractor expressed gratitude to Mr Danku and lauded the aspirant's vision to support boost agricultural activities in the district.

Mr Danku faces competition from the incumbent MP, Emmanuel Bedzrah and Lawyer Eric Alifo Dzansi in today’s primaries.
