Ho High Court orders South-Dayi District Office of Education moved

Ho, July 24, GNA - A Ho High Court on Tuesday ordered the District Chief Executive of the South-Dayi District and the Ghana Education Service to move the District Education Office from Peki to New Kpeve, capital of the district by the end of August 2007.

The Court presided over by Mr Justice Amasa Abanga similarly ordered the district assembly to move any of its principal offices sited outside the district capital to the capital, New Kpeve.

This followed an action by Mr Nii Adabra-Boateng and Mr Nathaniel Asamoah Assembly members of Kpalime-Duga and Todome/Wegbe Kpalime respectively challenging the decision of the assembly that decided to retain the District Office of the GES at Peki.

That District Office was a sub-district office of the GES under the Kpando District until 2004 when the South-Dayi District was created. Mr Abanga awarded a cost of 10 million cedis (1,000 Ghana Cedis) against the defendants. 24 July 07
