Reconstruction of the Ho–Tokor road will officially commence on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, with a ceremonial sod-cutting by President John Dramani Mahama.
Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Eric Edem Agbana, confirmed the development in a post on X on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

He noted that preliminary works had already started, with several earth-moving machines and equipment deployed to various sections of the road.
He emphasised that the project was one of the key promises made by President Mahama during the 2024 general elections.
“Ahead of the sod-cutting, preliminary works have already begun, with several earth-moving machines and equipment deployed to various sections of the road.
This project was one of the major promises made by the President during the 2024 general elections,” he wrote.
The MP also expressed appreciation to the Minister of Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, and his deputy, Alhassan Suhuyini, for their roles in advancing the project.

“This road is a pathway to progress, trade, and opportunity for our people. We are equally grateful to the Minister of Roads and Highways, Hon Governs Kwame Agbodza, and his able Deputy, Hon Alhasan Suhuyini, for their meticulousness in handling this project,” he added.
The reconstruction, part of President Mahama’s 'Big Push' Agenda, is expected to be completed in 2027.
The road serves as a vital link between Ho and neighboring Togo.
