Helicopter Crash: Children's Support Fund hits GH¢7.2 million and $20,000

The Children’s Support Fund, established by the government to provide long-term welfare for the children of victims of the tragic August 6 helicopter crash, has received additional donations between September 12 and 24, 2025, bringing the total amount raised to GH¢7,292,135 and US$20,000.

According to the latest update from the Presidency, contributions have come from both corporate entities and private individuals.

Major donors include Risk Management Ltd., Federated Commodities, Willbeck Consult, Sida Global Logistics & Engineering Ltd, the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Private donors such as Michael Kpakpo Allotey, Metropolitan Chief Executive of Accra, and Dr Li & Chen Guo Wei also made significant pledges.

Dr Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to all donors.

She assured the public that every contribution will be directed toward supporting the education, healthcare, and general welfare of the affected children.

Helicopter Crash: Support fund for victims’ children hits GH¢6.58m, US$20k

The Fund reiterated that donations remain open through Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited (Stanbic Heights Branch), with accounts available in both Ghana cedis and US dollars, as well as, via cheques, bank drafts, and mobile money platforms.

The tragic helicopter crash on August 6 claimed the lives of eight Ghanaians, including five government officials and three Ghana Armed Forces officers.
