‘Heavy rainstorm’ to hit middle, northern Ghana tonight – Ghana Meteo warns

The Ghana Meteorological Agency is warning of a heavy rainstorm across the middle and northern sectors of the country from Thursday evening through to the night.

Jasikan, Kadjebi, Kete Krachi, Yendi, Garu, Bawku and environs are expected to experience the rainstorm between 5:00pm and 8:00pm, while those in Mampong, Kumasi, Kintampo, Tamale, Bolgatanga, Navrongo and environs will have theirs between 5:30pm and 9:00pm.

The weather warning issued Thursday at exactly 4:00pm and signed by a Deputy Forecaster at the GMet, Frederick Otu-Larbi , said the rainstorm will between 7:00pm and 10:00pm hit Duayaw-Nkwanta, Sunyani, Wenchi, Bole, Wa, Tumu and environs.

It put the probability of the rainstorm occurrence, which is moving from Togo towards Ghana, at 70 per cent. “Boat operators on the Volta Lake are advised to be cautious when crossing the lake as there is a risk of strong winds occurring on the lake,” it warned.
