Hearts aim to rule Accra in Homowo Cup replay with Olympics

Olympics play home to Hearts in the 2nd encounter Olympics play home to Hearts in the 2nd encounter

After playing a goalless draw with city rivals Great Olympics in the Ga Homowo Challenge Cup match last Sunday, Accra Hearts of Oak will aim to wrestle the trophy when the two capital clubs go head-to-head again for the crown on Sunday.

It comes off again at the Accra Sports Stadium and will again be graced by the chiefs and elders of the Ga Traditional Council as they climax the 2019 Homowo festival celebrations.

In last Sunday's encounter, the Phobians created lots of chances especially in the first half but, failed to convert any as the game ended 0-0 with the luxury of the penalty shootout not applied to separate the two sides after 90 minutes.

This has prompted this replay and, Hearts will be out to make amends and put to sleep once and for all the assertion that the 'Lords' of the capital when it comes to football in Ghana.

Hearts rivalry with Great Olympics dates back decades and have won most of the exchanges over their less fancied neighbours who now ply their trade in the second tier of the Ghanaian game.

Coach Kim Grant now has a fair idea of what to look up to from Olympics going by what they put up last Sunday, and the fans will hope for an improved performance from the boys as we aim to win the trophy at stake ahead of the start of the new season.

The team has trained well all week for this second game and, they should be in high spirits as they go in search of a first trophy in our new Umbro shirt.

Expectations of our fans will be very high again on Sunday and they will demand a result from the boys no matter the level of opposition expected to come from the Wonder Club.

Just as they did in the lead up to last Sunday's encounter, Olympics has been very noisy in the build-up to this one also and, will be out to prove their stubbornness again in their new Strike kits.

They will look to pull a fast one over Hearts and, from what they showed up last Sunday, they look very much capable of doing so if left on the loose.

The battle to rule the capital is in full swing and our boys are very determined to stamp their authority over our less illustrious opponents and claim ownership of the capital and with it, all the bragging rights it comes with.

Rates for the game is GHc 10:00, GHc 20:00, GHc 30:00 and GHc 50:00. The game kicks off at 3:00PM.
