Accra, Nov. 14, GNA - The African Lens, a health magazine was on Friday introduced into the Ghanaian media to serve the health-information needs of the populace. The 36-page, navy blue cover with yellow, red and white inscriptions magazine would be sold at five Ghana Cedis and is to be published monthly. Mr. Bright Blewu, General Secretary, who performed the launch, said the media continued to play a critical role in the development of the country and Africa as a whole. He therefore charged the editorial board of the magazine to work hard in order to live up to the expectation of the reading public. Mr. Kweku Rockson, Rector of the Ghana Institute of Journalism called on the publishers to endeavour to abide by journalistic standards and code of practice.
He said meeting customer and consumer needs required that they gave out relevant information to enable them to stay in business. Mrs. Dinah Osei-Tutu, Executive Director, African Health Research Organization said the magazine would create an avenue for exchange of ideas within the African context which would translate to global development. 14 Nov. 08
