Head of State Awards partners with Tv3’s Miriam

The Head of State Awards Ghana is collaborating with Readbook Lib. Gh, a non-profit organization co-founded by TV3/3fm awarding winning broadcast journalist, Miriam Osei – Agyemang to begin skills development training for some selected young people in Ghana.

The 5-year partnership will see the mentoring of some ambitious young people to pursue their skills and passion outside of the classroom.

The HOSA Ghana, a member of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Association, was first introduced in Ghana as The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme in 1967 and currently operates in over 120 countries worldwide. It aims at encouraging students to use their leisure time to acquire new skills and experience.

Commenting on the presentation of the license, Miriam Osei – Agyemang described the certificate as a call to duty to leverage on her influences through the media to identify, harness and sustain the interest of young people to cultivate the love for volunteering as their own contribution to nation building.

Participants are expected to complete series of training to acquire a bronze medal, silver medal and ultimately a gold medal, which will be presented to them by the President of the republic.

Readbook Lib. Gh, aims at assisting children in rural Ghana with learning aids and creating useful educational platform for both young people in Ghana.
