The following is a blow-by-blow account of what happened.

On the day of the exeat, the mother called the school to report that her daughter had not arrived after waiting for several hours which got the school authorities alarmed.

On Thursday January 24, 2019, Augustina’s brother called the housemistress to inform her that a “supposed” kidnapper had sent him a text message that Augustina together with two others had been kidnapped and were in their custody and therefore demanded a ransom for their release.

Authorities of the school the following day lodged an official complaint with the Tarkwa police who commenced investigations into the incident only for the victim to surface at Kaneshie station on Monday January 28, 2019 looking pale and exhausted.

According her, from the school she went and boarded a vehicle at Tarkwa at the bus terminal to her destination only to wake up at the dead of night at a strange environment with an unknown man by her in a locked room.

She revealed that the man forcibly had sex with her several times without protection threatening to kill her if she did not oblige to his sexual requests.

Despite pleas to her abductor she was not feeling well and needed to seek medical attention, the man refused and locked her up in the room and kept sexually abusing her at the least opportunity until on Monday morning when she was released.

The victim identified the place as Kasoa in the Central Region and upon her release was brought to the CID headquarters and rushed to the police hospital where she underwent series of medical examination and is currently receiving treatment, MyNewsGh.com confirmed.
