Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu says the New Patriotic Party(NPP) can only be proud of two things. According to the Member of Parliament for Tamale South, President Akufo-Addo can celebrate the setup of the special prosecutor's office and the Free SHS.

“Free SHS is noble, but it is struggling. We've seen headmasters and headmistresses of schools being intimidated because of this initiative,” Mr Iddrisu told Joy FM in an interview.

The former Minister for Employment and Labour Relations in Ghana, also described President Nana Akufo-Addo’s State of the Nation address delivered on Thursday as “State of Promises Address”. “Mr President, we have heard you on your State of Promises address,” said Haruna Iddrisu in seconding a motion for the adjournment of Thursday’s sitting.

The minority leader added that the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government is the largest government in the world.

Minority Chief Whip, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, said the President’s address was more of a campaign speech, and that all the President did was to talk about what he is going to do instead of what his outfit has done so far.

“Virtually, he was just talking as if he was on a campaign trail, still making promises…instead of him to be telling us exactly what he has been able to do in 2017, the President wasted all the time talking about what he was going to do,” he said.
