Haruna Iddrisu planned attack on me - Dep. Minister

The deputy Minister for Women and Children's Affairs, Hajia Hawawu Boya Gariba says she suspects some colleague ministers who also hail from the north are behind the attack on her Sunday evening in Tamale.

A young woman rushed on the deputy minister in a saloon ripping off her clothes without provocation.

The police had to rescue the minister after some unidentified men also started throwing stones at her destroying properties belonging to the saloon owner.

Madam Boya Gariba in an interview with XYZ News said she plans to report the matter to the Chief of staff this week.

I went to the saloon because the week has started and besides the President is coming and we have to look gorgeous and go and meet the people, then all of a sudden this woman just came into the saloon and held me and tore my dress.

Hajia Boya also added that “the woman who doing my hair, a pregnant woman was also pushed down, I don’t have a security man so one of the boys who goes out with me held the woman and pushed her down”.

She added that “John Jinapor did the same thing to me and I reported it to the Chief of Staff but he has not taken any action and now Haruna Iddrisu has also done it to me again. The day Jinapor did that to me, I was without a body guard and today that they saw me without a body guard, they have attacked me.”
