Hannah Tetteh is Foreign Affairs Minister

Reports reaching radioXYZonline.com indicate that the outgoing Trade and Industry Minister, Ms. Hannah Tetteh is President Mahama's choice to head the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

President John Dramani Mahama is required by the constitution to make the appointment in consultation with the Council of State, which is currently not in place.

Thereafter, the individual will have to be vetted by Parliament's Appointment Committee to formalise the appointment.

A source in the Presidency told XYZ News Ms. Hannah Tetteh, a close friend of the President is believed to possess the right capabilities for the position. She was the Communications Director of the 2012 John Mahama campaign team.

She will replace the outgoing minister, Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni who recently won the Kumbungu Constituency seat.

There are indications that former Deputy Finance Minister Fiifi Kwetey could be appointed as Deputy Minister for Trade and Industries.

Other possible nominees include Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for Deputy ministerial positions.

Our sources also say former Deputy Finance Minister Seth Terkper is in pole position to be the substantive Minister.

There are indications that President Mahama will split the Energy Ministry and create an Oil and Gas Ministry for the burgeoning sector.

More soon.
