As the debates over who deserves what at the upcoming 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards continue, Ghanaian artiste Gyakie has sparked conversation on social media with a cryptic message about her recent album, "After Midnight."
In a post on her X handle on March 17, 2026, the ‘Sankofa’ hitmaker reminded the public that she is the only female artiste to have an album in the Apple Music Top Album charts in Ghana.
“The only album by a female that went number 1 in the country btw. i say make I remind una,” she wrote.
Although Gyakie did not directly reference awards or nominations in her post, the post comes after her nomination for Album/EP of the Year for ‘After Midnight.”
She also earned nominations for the Best Afrobeats/AfroPop Artiste of the Year, alongside Wendy Shay, KiDi, Kojo Blak, OliveTheBoy, and Moliy as well as the Best Afropop Song of the Year for Sankofa.
Meanwhile, Black Sherif picked up nods across Artiste of the Year, Best Hiphop Song, Best Afropop Song, Best Music Video and Songwriter of the Year.
Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Medikal, Wendy Shay and Diana Hamilton complete a fiercely competitive Artiste of the Year lineup.
