A group calling itself ‘Victory for Nana Addo, 2016,’ says it would not entertain the activities of saboteurs of the party.
Members of the group said they would not allow anybody to stand in the way of victory for the party’s presidential candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 2016 general elections.
The NPP has been in the news lately following the suspension of its national chairman Paul Afoko, and the rancor in the party has not subsided.
Some people have accused followers of the beleaguered chairman of fomenting trouble and sabotaging the party.
However supporters of the suspended chairman also insist they have the democratic right to protest against the unconstitutional action taken against Mr. Afoko.
In the ensuing debate, the ‘Victory for Nana Addo, 2016,’ group issued a news release in Accra and signed by its leader Alhaji Mugisu Sibawey.
It said “we are determined to work hard to ensure that Nana Akufo-Addo shall come out victorious in 2016.
“No matter the level of sabotage- whether internal or external- Nana Akufo-Addo is the automatic winner of the 2016 presidential election.”
The statement said “our conclusion is based on a nationwide research conducted by our team of experts in politics and governance which revealed that Nana Akufo-Addo is winning the 2016 election with 52.5 or 52.7 percent.
“We are advising the anti Akufo-Addo elements within the NPP to stop their acts of sabotage and join the winning team in the interest of good governance in Ghana.
“We urge all members to close their ranks and work hard towards victory in 2016.”
It called on the saboteurs to stop their activities and join NPP in the campaign to ensure victory.
“They will mourn their loss and disappointment after the election.”
