Group warns NPP parliamentary aspirants in upcoming primaries

A group calling itself Amansie Young Professionals Group (COAYPG), has sent a strong warning to NPP Parliamentary candidates in the Bekwai and Amansie municipality to desist from any activities that will mar the peace the municipality has enjoyed over the years.

In a press release sent to Ghanaweb, the group said it has observed with keen interest, the current simmering political pressure within the NPP, with respect to the upcoming parliamentary primaries, and has cautioned the aspirants to conduct their campaign with decorum and civility.

The director of the group, Lawyer Elvis Ampadu, said the group has observed how the youth is usually used to foment trouble by political parties and cautioned the aspirants to abstain from anything that will derail the peace of the municipality.

The congress of Amansie young professionals’ group has observed keenly, the current simmering political pressure with respect to the impending NPP parliamentary primaries to be held in the Amansie constituencies and especially Bekwai municipality.

The group wishes to caution that aspirants must conduct their campaigns and other political activities in the wake of this volatile and fluid political atmosphere with civility and decorum. The group further advises that, calculated attempts to fracture the political friendliness, peace and tranquility of the municipality shall not be tolerated.

As a formidable youth group, we entreat all actors to abide by the procedural rules to ensure a free fair and peaceful election. As apostles of democracy we seek to support only actors who will be engaged in politics of respect and ideas.

Lawyer Elvis Ampadu, the director of communications of COAYPG states that most of the times the youth is recruited to foment troubles to satisfy the whims and caprices of an aspirant. He further cautions aspirants to abstain from such an unpeaceful political conduct and engage in politics of ideas and peace. Amansie is a united municipality and we therefore encourage aspirants to strive to maintain this peace in spite of their political activities.

He reiterated that the youth of Amansie and Bekwai which happens to be a strong world bank for the NPP need human resource development to be able to match up with the changing face of jobs in Ghana and the association is committed to this political purity .He states that this political purity must be protected like an uncontaminated virgin and the Association promises to put in any effort to achieve this ideals.

The congress of Amansie Young Professionals Group (COAYPG) is a group of highly educated professionals and business men who hail from Amansie and have come together with a common goal to develop the youth and embark on developmental projects in Bekwai and its environs.

The group comprises of Teachers, pharmacists, doctors, health officers, entrepreneurs and business men and women, engineers, lawyers, uniformed service officers, nurses, politicians etc.
