Kwame Ernest, a night security guard who was allegedly assaulted by a group of students of the Berekum Senior High School (BESS) in the Bono Region has appealed for expeditious police investigations and to serve him justice.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at the Berekum, Ernest said he was allegedly assaulted by the group of students during an inter-school football match.
He said the incident happened last Wednesday February 11, 2028, night, saying he was admitted at the Berekum Holy Family Catholic Hospital for medical attention.
Narrating his ordeal, Ernest said about eight students confronted and questioned him why he was strictly enforcing the school’s rules and regulations, preventing students from leaving the school premises at night hours.
Ernest said without any provocation, his alleged attackers wearing face masks subjected him to severe beatings using pieces of wood and other offensive materials that left him unconscious.
“I just realised that I was on admission at the hospital,” he stated, flimsy in a voice.
He said that he was able to identify some of his attackers and called on the police to speed up their investigations and to bring the suspects to book.
Ernest said some of the school authorities, including the headmaster of the school visited him at the hospital.
