The leadership of Prestea Communicators for Development (PCD) has hailed the first female MP of the Constituency, Lawyer Barbara Oteng-Gyasi for supporting the treatment of hole-in-heart patient Josephine Adjei Yeboah, a 14-year old girl from Prestea who was admitted at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and needed money to undergo open heart- surgery.

The Prestea Huni-Valley lawmaker donated an amount of 200 million old Ghana Cedis for the treatment to correct the hole-in-heart defect known as ventricular septal defect (VDS) with pulmonary stenosis (PS).

"Our commendation comes after we got a letter of appreciation from National Cardiotheracic Centre, NCTC, signed by Dr. Lawrence A. Sereboe, Director, NCTC on 13th December,2018", they revealed.

The youth group devoted to championing development in Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality of the Western Region added "What really makes us happy is that, the parents of Josephine are all known members of the opposition National Democratic Congress in Prestea, and our MP has indeed shown that she is indeed a mother for all, a woman with kind heart and someone who does NOT encourage petty partisan politics".

"We at PCD still note that, just recently, the Obapaa Micro Finance which was set up by our MP, Lawyer Mrs. Barbara Oteng-Gyasi with seed money of 1.2 billion (old cedis) was also in a NON-PARTISAN mode", they commended.

According to the group, this is the first of its kind taken by the MP and therefore appealed to the constituents to pray for her to continue to do more for the area.

"These positions taking by our MP are the first of its kinds and we continue to appeal to the teaming women, men, elders, pastors, and Chiefs to continue to support and pray God to continue showering His blessings on our MP, so that she can do more for Prestea Huni-Valley in particular and mother Ghana at large", they said.

They added "Once again, great job done Wassa Hemma Lawyer Mrs. Barbara Oteng Gyasi"
